Gabrielle ‘Ellie’ Rubenstein

Driven by a passion to support worldwide access to nutrition, wilderness and wellbeing, Ellie Rubenstein founded Mission: Ingredients, an Alaska based family office, to make lasting improvements in human health.

Through Mission: Ingredients, Ellie drives positive change in global population health. The organization seeds initiatives within the National Parks Service, U.S. military, educational institutions and programs as well as various health and wellness organizations.

In her professional life, Ellie started her career by working for a west coast family office where she helped launch the first asset manager in Alaska. Today, Ellie is co-founder and Managing Partner of Manna Tree, a private equity investment firm dedicated to improving human health by partnering with companies that support its vision. Ellie is a member of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees and she shapes the firm’s vision strategy, investment products and develops Manna Tree’s global network.

Ellie’s passion for improving the lives of others has been seen through her philanthropic activities. She has supported the American Red Cross, having dedicated countless hours to the organization since first volunteering with the Red Cross Alaska in 2014. She was instrumental in implementing the Red Cross of Alaska’s Service to the Armed Forces Committee (SAF), which was the first in its region. Since 2016, she had served as a volunteer counterpart to both senior vice presidents of the American Red Cross SAF and International Service Department (ISD). She has helped develop short-and long-term strategic plans for the SAF/ISD and served on the National SAF Council.

In 2020, Ellie was appointed to the Alaska Permanent Fund Board of Trustees by Governor Mike Dunleavy. As part of her role of trustee, she sits on the Governance Committee which reviews the Board of Trustees Charters and Governance Policies and recommends proposed changes to the full Board for approval as necessary to ensure that the Charter remains relevant and appropriate

From 2016 to 2020 she served as an active member of the Stand Together community including sitting on the Advisory Board of the Stand Together Ventures Lab. The focus of this group is to invest in and support founders of early-stage startups in their quest to dismantle barriers that keep society from moving forward. Ellie is additionally an active supporter of the following organizations:

Ellie’s unique combination of experience with both investment and philanthropy has inspired families and institutions to make investments in human health.

Ellie earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Harvard University, where she was a varsity ski racer. She earned her master’s degree in agriculture economics from Purdue University and her MBA from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business where she was a Tobias Fellow.

Ellie is an avid hunter and angler and spends her free time on the shores or in the woods of Alaska.
